Chinese Boy 6 Is Covered In Glass After A Mall apos;s Door Shatters

A glass door has shattered over a boy when he pushed it to open at a mall in southern [/news/china/index.html China].
The six-year-old was showered in sharp debris in front of his horrified grandmother after he violently swung the door in the shopping centre in the city of Changsha, according to reports.
The child was taken to hospital and found to have cuts on his arms and head.

The incident took place at the Desiqin Shopping Centre in the city's Yuhua District on September 30, according to local Mango TV.
CCTV footage shows the glass door bursting and its debris covering the child after he violently pushed it.
The boy falls to the ground and can be seen getting back onto his feet while his grandmother checks on him.
He was taken to hospital by staff at the mall. 
The shopping centre claimed the boy had swung open the door 'improperly' beyond 90 degrees, which caused it to explode.

It deemed the incident an accident.

But the boy's mother, known by her surname Tan, believed the door had been poorly made and accused the mall of negligence.
'The glass door weighed at least a couple of hundred kilograms and slammed onto my child, injuring him,' Ms Tan told Mango TV.
'A shopping mall is a public place.

The parent also claimed that no staff members were around at the time to stop her son's action.  
The boy's mother is negotiating a compensation package with the mall's owners but is yet to reach an agreement.
